Dr. Woodruff Room
This home that was Samuel Noble's for a short 6 year period due to his early death at age 54 in 1888, was given the name of Noble-Woodruff House on the Alabama Historic Register as the Woodruff family lived in this home longer than any other residents to date. In 1947, the elder Dr. Woodruff and family purchased the home which later, in the 1960s, went to the younger Dr. Woodruff. It was this man, Gerald Woodruff Jr. and his wife, Harriet, who, with their 5 children, had the home moved from where Anniston High School now sits on Woodstock Avenue, to the home's current site located on a mountainside in Booger Hollow.
This room features Victorian antique furniture. In fact, the beautiful Standard Double Victorian bed now, of course, with new mattress and bedding, was where the elder Dr. Woodruff was born. With a small sofa and also a small desk, and looking out to the back garden, this room is quite attractive as well as being historic! Enjoyable! $185 per night plus 8% lodging tax
